In 1989, Mr. Jai Kishore Prasad set up JK Silver & Co. As the name suggests, the one-man company initially specialized in silver ornaments and articles. Mr. Prasad opened its first office in 1990 in Kolkata and travelled through the length and breadth of South India. Soon, jewellers in Chennai, Vellore, Hyderabad, Warangal, Vijayawada, Bangalore, Hassan, and Mangalore were hankering after the specially crafted silver jewellery and articles that Mr. Prasad possessed. In the year 1995, Mr. Prasad opened a small office in the Bangalore jewelry market and started a gold ornaments business in the year 1996. In the year 2004, JKS Jewels Pvt. Ltd. was established, and thereafter, offices were opened in Chennai and Mumbai to ensure a smooth supply of delicately handcrafted Kolkata gold ornaments to leading jewelers of South and West India. In a very short time JKS Jewels earned immense success due to their honest, transparent, and friendly approach with customers.
